Proto post. Testing... testing...

Lately I feel like there's a whole bunch of things I want to do and not enough time. Snapshot of my life, I currently work in a job that is emotionally rewarding, but not so much for the pocket if you know what I mean, and I LOVE to climb, but I feel like I should go back to school so I can earn enough to be responsible, so that means school and work, and I'm worried that someday I'll look back and I will have missed my life. I am 30 though, so maybe i already did... You read about these people who go out and do the Impossible (capital I) all the time, at whatever age, and you wonder what makes them different? Maybe the only difference is that they dared, and you didn't. I dunno, looking for any feedback that might be out there.

  1. I think life usually turns out a lot different than we think it's going to, or than we picture it in our minds. I think we need to have goals and things that we're interested in, but I also don't see the point in beating ourselves up if we don't end up being the best or the wildest at whatever we're doing.

  2. An oldy but a goody:

    "God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
    and wisdom to know the difference.

    Living one day at a time;
    Enjoying one moment at a time;
    Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
    Taking, as He did, this sinful world
    as it is, not as I would have it;
    Trusting that He will make all things right
    if I surrender to His Will;
    That I may be reasonably happy in this life
    and supremely happy with Him
    Forever in the next.
    Amen."

    just take it as it comes and listen hard for God's voice - you won't regret a moment of that

  3. It is important to remember the difference between great men and good men. Great men are the ones we read about, but notice how rarely they are good! CEOs, politicians and the like can command our attention, but rarely our respect.

    You're a good man. I wouldn't trade that for a bit of notoriety.
